I checked the school yearbooks available on Ancestry.com. They did not have yearbooks earlier than 1938 for Spencer, Iowa. A search for "Webb High School" resulted in a matching collage available on Ebay ($17.99- I paid $10 I think).
I then started looking for the 14 individuals. Luckily, many had distinctive names.
Richard Lee Binkard was born on 25 September 1915 in Royal, Clay County, Iowa, son of William Lee Binkard and Florence Kelbaugh. He died in 1963 and was buried in Garfield Township Cemetery in Webb, Clay County, Iowa.
Harold Charles Blair.
Harold Charles Blair was born on 19 January 1932 in Webb, Clay County, Iowa, son of Nathan Eugene Blair and Carrie Nevada Applegate. He died on 29 March 1995 in Spencer, Clay County, Iowa. He was buried in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly, Clay County, Iowa.
Charlotte Ruby Campbell was born on 27 December 1915 in West Bend, Palo Alto County, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar Andrew Campbell and Mary Elizabeth Green. Her nickname was Sherry. She was married in 1935 to Dana Hayes Devitt. She died on 14 December 2005 in Spirit Lake, Dickinson County, Iowa. She was buried there in Lakeview Cemetery. A photo of Charlotte and Dana appears on an Ancestry Family Tree.
Darwin Walker Chickering.
Darwin Oliver Chickering was born on 4 September 1913 in Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa, son of George Lncoln Chickering and Isa Belle Finley. He died on 19 August 1958 in Webb County, Iowa. He was buried in Garfield Township Cemetery in Webb, Clay County, Iowa.
Ruth E. Griwswold was born on 23 October 1911 in Ludlow, Champaign County, Illinois, daughter of Ralph E. Griswold and Maude Cole. She was married in 1933 to Edward Rowe. She died on 25 March 1976 in Paxton, Ford County, Illinois. She was buried in the Ludlow Cemetery in Ludlow, Champaign County, Illinos.
Warren Walter Griswold was born on 1 July 1913 in Webb, Clay County, Iowa, son of Ralph E. Griswold and Maude Cole. He died on 13 November 1951 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. He was buried in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids, Buena Vista County, Iowa. Warren served in the Navy during World War II.
Arthur Gunnar Gunnarson was born on 6 February 1913 in Holstein County, Iowa. He died on 23 January 2003. He was cremated and the remains buried in Marathon, Iowa. He was a World War II veteran.
Elmer Oliver Mossengren.
Elmer Oliver Mossengren was born on 3 July 1913 in Clay County, Iowa, son of Gustaf Glenn Nelson Mossengren and Ida Christine Oleson. He died on 22 March 1969 in Sherburn, Martin County, Minnesota. He was buried in Fairfield Cemetery in Albert City, Buena Vista County, Iowa.
Frederick Douglas Murphy was born on 20 December 1882 in Davis County, Iowa, son of Mason Murohy and Mary Jane (--?--). He taught public school in Webb in 1930. He died on 14 February 1949 in Epary Township, Davis County, Iowa. He was buried in the Bloomfield IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa.
Imogene Grace Templeman.
Imogene Grace Templeman was born on 17 July 1915 in Winnett, Petroleum County, Montana, the daughter of Elmer Victor Templeman and Blanche Bernice Endsley. She was married to Horace Demer Stover. She died on 7 January 1998 at Lawrence County, South Dakota. She was buried in Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. There are other photographs of her on Ancestry.com.
Florence Evelyn Woodford was born on 15 October 1914 in Webb, Clay County, Iowa, daughter of Isaac Woodford and Charlotte Pugh. She was married to Clay Waterford Wright. She died on 14 April 1995 in Sun City, Riverside County, California. She was buried in Garfield Township Cemetery in Webb, Clay County, Iowa.
I was unable to locate Miss Pitsch, Mr. Wood, or Miss Combs.
