I cannot remember where I purchase this photo. It is from the Andrew Horne studio of Plainville, Kansas. Plainville is in Rook County. On the front in pencil is "Hannah Shores[,] Aunt Maria's daughter." On the back in pencil is "This is for Frank. Hannah & Dessie. Silvanus's oldest child." Hannah Shores and Dessie. I was unsure if Shores was Hannah's maiden name or married name. I was unsure if Dessie was her child. Also unsure who Silvanus was- was he her husband? I search Rooks County for Shores. Nothing. Two photos purchased at antique stores in Tucson. The first is from the Kuhns studio located at 33 1/2 Whitehall Street in Atlanta, Georgia. On the back in pencil is "Vada Terrell." Vada Terrell. I started searching Vada Terrell on Ancestry on the 1900 census (looking for a woman born 1880 plus or minus five years) and in Public Trees. I could not locate her. I then did a Google search and a Findagrave entry appeared for a Lavada Viola Terrell who was nicknamed Vada. She went by that nickname on her marriage record. Lavada Viola Terrell was born on 16 October 1876 (according to 1900 census) in Clayton County, Georgia, the daughter of John Calhoun Terrell and Sarah Elizabeth Huie. On 7 June 1880, Lavada V. lived with her parents John C. and Sallie E. Terrell and siblings Francis L., Joseph J., Mollie E., Maggie E., Fannie B., Albert W., and Rufus M. in District 548 of Clayton County, Georgia. Her famer and two oldest brothers were farmers and her mother was keeping house. [...
