Lucy Philura (Van Deusen) Fullam.


I searched Ancestry public trees for a Raleigh Fullam married to a Lucy and quickly found her.

Lucy Philura Van Deusen was born on 5 March 1826 in Cayuga County, New York, daughter of (--?--) Van Deusen and Dulcina Hammond (1796-1876). She was married circa 1846 to Harleigh Stephen Fullam.

Harleigh Stephen Fullam was born circa 1818 in Monroe County, New York.

On 29 July 1850, Harley H. and Lucy Fullam, Lucy’s 54-year-old mother Delsena Vandusen, and 13-year-old Andrew Vandusen lived in Perinton, Monroe County, New York. Harleigh was a farmer. The couple owned $6,500 in real estate.[1]

On 15 November 1860, Stephen H. and Lucy Fullam, 12-year-old Harley Fullam, and 10-year-old Lucy Dandosen lived in Perinton, Monroe County, New York. Stephen was a commercial merchant. He owned $800 in real estate and $100 in personal estate.[2]

On 1 June 1865, Stephen H. and Lucy P. Fullam, nephew Harleigh F. Deviney, and niece Lucy A. Van Dusen lived in Penfield, Monroe County, New York. They lived in a frame house. Stephen was a farmer.[3]

On 18 June 1870, Harley S and Lucy P. Fullam, 19-year-old Lucy Van Dusen, 13-year-old Willard Fullam, and the older Lucy’s 70-year-old mother, D. Van Dusen lived in District 1 of Penfield, Monroe County, New York. Harleigh was a farmer who owned $4,500 in real estate and $1,500 in personal estate. Lucy was keeping house.[4]

On 1 June 1875, Harleigh and Lucy Fullam were living with their niece Loney Peacock and her husband Stephen Peacock in the 15th ward of Rochester, Monroe County, New York. Also in the household were the Peacock’s three-year-old daughter Flora, and Lucy’s mother Dolcena Vandusen (who was Loney’s grandmother.[5]

Harleigh died in 1879. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield, Monroe County, New York.[6]

On 25 June 1880, Lucy was keeping house by herself in Penfield.[7]

In 1892, L. P. Fullan lived with her nephew and niece Stephen and Lucy Peacock and their children in the 24th ward of Buffalo, Erie County, New York. Stephen was the superintendent of a sewer pipe works.[8]

In October 1894, Lucy was among the heirs of Elizabeth M. Cobb. The others were James D. Cobb, Curtis Van Duzen, Frank Van Duzen, Ambrose Van Duzen, the heirs of the late Thomas Hammond, and the heirs of the late Mary (Robinson) Deviney.[9]

In March 1898: Mr. and Mrs. S. Peacock of 139 Forest avenue and their daughter Mrs. Getsinger, accompanied by Mrs. Lucy P. Fullam were in Rochester last week attending the funeral of Mrs. Peacock’s Father, Mr. Cortez Van Dusen. Mrs. Fullman is a sister of the deceased.[10]

On 8 June 1900, Lucy P. Fullam lived with her nephew and niece Stephen and Lucy A. Peacock and their son Cortez A. Peacock at 3 Limewood Road in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.[11]

Lucy P. Fullam died on 21 March 1902 in Rochester, New York.[12] “FULLAM- In this city, Friday, March 21, 1902, at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Stephen Peacock, No. 13 Pearl street, Lucy P. Fullam, widow of Harleigh Fullam, aged 76 years. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the house and will be private. Buffalo papers please copy.”[13]

Lucy was buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Penfeld, Monroe County, New York.[14]
