I purchased a bin of photos from a local estate auction. Many belong to a family that originated from Michigan.

On the back of this photo in pencil is "Rev. C. A. Fellows." The studio mark states "H. B. Hull  Paris Panel  Corner 3rd and Court, Portsmouth, O."

Rev. C. A. Fellows.

I searched the United States census records for persons named Fellows who lived in Portsmouth, Ohio (which is in Scioto County, Ohio). The 1900 census only had six individuals. And one was Charles A. Fellows, a minister.

Charles A. Fellows was born on 20 August 1856 in Ohio, the son of Charles Fellows and Esther Gracey. In July 1860, Charles lived with his parents and siblings William, John, George, Nathan, Martha, and Henry in Cross Creek, Jefferson County, Ohio. His father was a laborer.[1]
On 17 June 1870, Charles A. lived with his parents and siblings John, George, Martha J., Henry, James W., Adam C., and Albert F. in Cross Creek. His father was a farm laborer. Charles had attended school in the last year.[2]

Charles was married on 4 July 1878 in Jefferson County, Ohio to Anna May Graham.[3]

On 11 June 1880, Charles A. and Annie Fellows and their three-month-old daughter Maud lived in New Alexandria, Jefferson County, Ohio. Charles was school teaching and Annie was keeping house.[4]

On 11 June 1900, Charles A. and Anna Fellows and their children Ethel, Ada, and Ray lived in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio along with boarder Sampson E. Varner. Charles was a minister and Ethel was a music teacher.[5]
On 10 April 1910, Charles A. and Anna M. Fellows and their daughter Ada D. lived at 2307 W. Jefferson Street in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Charles was a “minister preaching.”[6]

On 30 January 1920, Charles A. and Anna M. Fellows and daughter Ada D. lived on 1st Street in Solomon, Cloud County, Kansas. They rented their home. Charles was a church preacher.[7]

In 1925, Charles A. and Anna M. Fellows and daughter Ada lived in Gaylord, Smith County, Kansas. Charles was a pastor for a Federated church.[8]
