Back in 2022 I found photos of an extended family including several Jorgensens. Recently I returned to the antique store and sorted through another pile of photos and found three more.

Two were taken at the same time, the same woman.

On the back of the first one is: "Caroline Hansena Jorgensen 18 or 19 yrs of age." There is a studio mark: Myklebrost, Eagle Grove.

The second photo has written in ink on the back: "Caroline Jorgensen Braumann [and] Mother of La Vonne."

The third photo has written on the back: "Roy & Pearl Jorgensen [and] April 12, 1945."

It took me a while to track down Caroline, whose name was sometimes spelled Carolyn. I eventually located it by searching for a Braumann who died in Tucson and her husband Walter showed up.

Caroline Hansena Jorgensen was born on 16 September 1901 in Moville, Woodbury County, Iowa, the daughter of John Jorgensen and Gertie Hanson.

Carolyn Jorgenson was married on 29 April 1922 in Wright County, Iowa to Walter Irwin Braumann.[1] Walter was born on 23 April 1902 in Iowa, the son of William Braumann and Eva Jones.

On 10 April 1930, Walter E. and Caroline H. Brauman and their daughter Lavonne F., as well as Walter’s brother Howard H. Brauman lived in Troy, Wright County, Iowa. They rented their home and had a radio. The men were general farmers.[2]

On 27 April 1940, Walter and Carolyn Brauman, their daughter La Vonne, and Walter’s father William Brauman lived in Eagle Grove, Wright County, Iowa. Their home was valued at $800. Walter was a feeder at a poultry house and Caroline was an egg candler at the poultry house.[3]

On 15 April 1950, the couple lived in Eagle Grove. Walter was the manager of a gas station and Caroline was a helper at the station.[4]

Walter died from a coronary occlusion on 28 February 1958 in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.[5] He was buried there in South Lawn Cemetery.

Caroline died on 2 August 1990 in Tucson, Pima County and was buried in South Lawn Cemetery.[6]

Looking at the list of siblings led me to Caroline’s brother Roy H. Jorgensen. He was born on 14 May 1916 in Eagle Grove, Wright County, Iowa and died on 24 February 2008 in Missouri. He was married  Pearl Emma Claussen in 1945. Pearl was born on 20 March 1918 and died on 30 April 2009.[7]
