Henry August Floerke was born on 14 November 1856 in Dayton,
Greene County, Ohio, the son of Christian Henry Floerke and Catherine Hepsalon.
On 11 July 1860, Henry lived with his parents and siblings Herman and Matilda
in New Bremen, Auglaize County, Ohio. His father was a butcher.[1]
On 1 June 1870, Henry lived with his father and siblings Harman and Matilda in
Saint Marys, Auglaize County, Ohio. His father was a farmer.[2]
In June 1880, Henry lived with his father Henry C. Floerke, and his
brother-in-law and sister Henry and Matilda Moeller in Osage Township, Otoe
County, Nebraska. The two men were farming.[3]
He was married on 23 February 1881 in Nebraska to Barbara Rosetta
Kutscher. At the time of the marriage they lived at Otoe Nebraska. Pastor
Theophilus Tanner conducted the ceremony at the home of Carl Kutscher, which
was witnessed by Harmann Mindermann and Martin Halfmann.[4]
On 19 July 1870, Charles and Phoba Kutcher and their
children- Bovana [Barbara], Sarah, Katy, Elizabeth, Petters, and Henry lived in
Franklin, Lee County, Iowa. She was attending school.[5]
In June 1880, Barbara lived with her father Christoper “Koutscher” and siblings Sarah, Chatherina, and Elizabeth in
Osage, Otoe County, Nebraska.[6]
On 4 June 1885, Henry and Barbara Floerke and their children
Charles, Rosetta, and Bertha, as well as laborer August Sabbert lived in Osage
Precinct, Otoe County, Nebraska. Henry was farming and Barbara was keeping
house.[7]
On 12 June 1900, Henry A. and Barbara R. Floerke and their
children Charles, Rosata, Bertha, Ida, Fred and Lucinda lived in Idalia,
Arapahoe County, Colorado. Henry and Charles were farming and four of the children
were attending school.[8]
On 2 June 1920, Henry and Barbara Floerke and their children
Lucinta, Ida, and Fred lived in Idalia Precinct (now in Yuma County). Henry was
a general farmer.[9]
On 12 April 1920, Henry and Barbara and their children Chas.
and Fred lived in Idalia. The three men were farming.[10]
Henry died on 16 August 1923 in Idalia.
In 1930, Barbara lived with her son Charles A. Floerke and
two of her grandchildren Nadine Stewart and Charles Stewart. Charles owned the
farm and had a radio. He was farming.[11]
On 5 April 1940, Barbara lived with her son Charles and
grandchildren Nadine and Charles Stewart in Idalia. Charles owned his house,
valued at $300. The two Charles were farming.[12]
Barbara died on 20 May 1945 in Idalia.
Henry and Barbara were buried in Saint Johns Cemetery in
Idalia.[13]
Henry and Barbara were the parents of six children:

3). Bertha Sarah (Floerke) Chandler (1885-1967)
4). Ida Catherine (Floerke) McKinzie (1888-1980)
5). Fred Christian Floerke (1893-1979)
6). Anna Lucinda (Floerke)(Stewart) Hartman (1899-1974)
