I searched Ancestry public family tree for a Monroe born on 17 August 1834. I immediately found Felix Thomas Monroe who lived in Indianapolis and was born on that date.

Felix Thomas Monroe was born on 17 August 1834 in Lexington, Scott County, Indiana, the son of William Monroe and Phoebe Nancy Parham.

On 10 September 1850, William and Phebe Monroe and their sons Felix and Milton lived in Lexington. William and Felix were farming.[1]

Felix T. Monroe was married on 27 March 1860 inn Indiana to Matilda S. Hawkins.[2]

On 23 June 1860, F. Thomas and Matilda S. Monroe lived in Lexington. Thomas was a merchant and Matilda did housework. They owned $600 in real estate and $450 in personal estate.[3]

Felix enrolled in Company D of the 81st Indiana Infantry on 14 August 1862. He was discharged on 5 May 1863 at Lexington because he had been wounded in action. He was a Sergeant.[4]

On 1 June 1863, Felix Monroe registered for the draft while living in Lexington and working as a printer.[5]

Felix T. Monroe applied for an Invalid’s pension on 29 October 1864, receiving it.[6]

On 30 July 1870, Felix and Martha Monroe and two boarders Margaret Minor and Julia Hawkins lived in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Felix was a printer and Martha was keeping house. They owned $300 in personal estate.[7]

On 3 June 1880, Thomas Monroe lived at 144 N. Tennessee Street in Indianapolis in a boarding house. He worked in a printing office.[8]

Felix T. Monroe was married on 5 March 1885 in Indianapolis to Belle R. Gordon (or Perrine).[9]

On 11 June 1900, F Thomas and Belle R. Monroe and their daughter Tomaline P. lived at 2017 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. Thomas was a printer. Belle reported she had been the mother of two children, with one living.[10]

On 18 April 1910, F. and Belle Monroe and daughter T. lived at 2037 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. Thomas was a printer of a daily paper.[11]

Felix died on 11 March 1917 in Indianapolis from a cerebral hemorrhage.[12]

He was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.[13]
