An antique store purchase from Tucson. A group photograph of nine young men. On the back of the photo is taped a typed list of names:

Martin-Jones brothers (for names see below).

List of names.

back row; L to R. Walter Lorenzo Dal (Skeet) Martin, Robert Bruce Hall (Rob) Martin, Tandy Jones (half-bro), Marcus Eugene (Tanks) Martin, Loudophous Gilbert (Doll) Martin, Luther Rice Martin.'

front row; L to R. Joseph Sanford (Joe) Martin, James William (Jim) Martin, John Alexander Martin.

I first went to Ancestry Public Trees searching for Walter Lorenzo Martin, Robert Bruce Hall Martin, and Tandy Jones. No positive results. Then I search World War I draft registrations for these names. Again, no positive results.

I then thought the men were likely brothers so I searched the 1900 census for a Walter Martin with a brother named Marcus Martin.

Success! The following family lived in Justice Precinct 4 in Stonewall County, Texas. Those males in bold below are in the photograph.

Robt A. Jones 52, head, b. Texas

Lou Jones 45, wife, b. Tennessee

Ida Martin 20, daughter, b. Tennessee

Walter Martin 17, son, b. Tennessee

Rudolphus Martin 16, son, b. Tennessee

Willie F. Martin 13, daughter, b. Tennessee

Robert Martin 12, son, b. Tennessee

Marcus E. Martin 11, son, b. Tennessee

Luther R. Martin 8, son, b. Tennessee

Ruby V. Jones 4, daughter, b. Texas

Tandy Jones 1, son, b. Texas

Subsequent research revealed that Tandy Jones died in November 1914 at age 17 suggests that the photograph was probably taken in 1913 or 1914.
