A one dollar photo found in Warren, Arizona. It was taken in the Wilcox studio in Sioux City, Iowa. On the back in pencil is the following:

Oct 3rd 1923
Hope 15
Bea 23

E. F. Bauldin[?]
509 Mound Ave
So. Pasadena
Calif

I began by searching the name Bauldin in the 1920 census using Soundex in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. There were 102 entries, so I narrowed it down by adding E. in the given name spot. This came back with 11 entries including an E. F. Bouldin.

Bouldin, E. F. 46 b. Kansas,Agent Real Estate

Bouldin, Amelia 47 b. Michigan

Bouldin, Beatrice 19 b. Illinois Bookkeeper Telephone

Bouldin, Hope 11 b. South Dakota

So obviously this is a match.

Edward Franklin Bouldin was born on 2 February 1874, the son of William F. Bouldin and Sarah A. (--?--). On 5 June 1880, Edward lived with his parents and siblings Sulina, Minnie, and Rosa in Rockford, Floyd County, Iowa. His father was a laborer.[1]

Edward was married on 19 September 1899 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to Amelia Matherson. Amelia was born in 1871.[2]

On 4 June 1900, Edward and Amelia lived at 619 W. 69th Street in Chicago. Edward was a conductor.[3]

In April 1910, Edward F. and Amelia Bouldin and daughters Beatrice and Hope lived at 1107 15th in Sioux City. Edward was a commercial traveler in groceries.[4]

On 12 September 1918, he and Amelia lived at 2929 Jennings in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked as a traveling salesman for Zoberton-Warfield Company. He was tall, medium height, had blue eyes, and medium brown hair.[5]

On 7 January 1920, E. F. and Amelia and their daughters Beatrice and Hope lived at 2518 Pierce Street in Sioux City. Edward was a real estate agent and Beatrice was a telephone bookkeeper.[6]

Edward died on 13 March 1930 from angina pectoris in Sioux City.[7] He was buried in Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City.[8] Amelia died in November 1956 and is also buried in Logan Park Cemetery.[9]

Edward and Amelia (Matherson) Bouldin were the parents of two children:

i.                     Beatrice Opal Bouldin was born circa 1901 in Illinois.

ii.                   Hope Bouldin was born in 1908 in South Dakota.
