On the back in blue pencil is: Herman & Anna Krell Repcka.
I searched Ancestry Public Member Tree for a Herman Repcka and quickly found him. A different version with the probable best man and maid of honor is on Ancestry.
Herman Theodore Repcke was born on 22 August 1877, the son
of John Rapcka and Minnie Mindeman. He was baptized in Marlow,
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany on 9 September 1877.
He emigrated to the United States in the mid-1880s.
On 21 June 1900, Herman was a farm help for Silas and Amanda
Douglass in Avon, Oakland County, Michigan.
Herman was married on 7 December 1903 in Avon to Anna Krell.
Pastor K. Lunster conducted the ceremony, which was witnessed by Emma Rewold
and William Rewold.[1] Anna
was born on 9 December 1883 in Kaslow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.[2]
She was the daughter of Henry Krell and Christina Reicholdt/Rhineholdt. On 7
June 1900, Anna was a servant in the household of Oxford and Laura Price in
Avon.[3]
On 22 April 1910, Herman and Anna Ripcka lived in Avon,
Oakland County, Michigan. Next door was Henry and Cristina Krell. Herman was a
general farmer.[4]
Herman registered for the draft on 12 September 1918 while
he and Anna were living in Rochester, Oakland County. He was a laborer for the
Parke Davis biological farm. Herman was medium height, stout, had brown eyes,
and black hair.[5]
On 15 January 1920, Herman F. and Anna A. Repek lived at 602
W. 5th Street in Avon, Oakland County, California. Lloyd and Martha
Relyea, Herman’s brother and sister in law, lived with them. Herman was a
laborer at a horse farm and Lloyd was a foreman at a woolen mill.[6]
Anna filed for divorce in March 1926.[7]
Anna died from hypnostatic pneumonia on 10 June 1927 in
Rochester, Oakland County.[8]
She was buried in the Mount Avon Cemetery in Rochester.[9]
On 17 April 1930, Herman lived by himself at 713 W. 5th
Street in Rochester. He owned his house, valued at $9,000, but did not have a
radio. He was the barn man for a biological farm.[10]
Herman was married second on 17 October 1930 in Rochester,
Oakland County, Michigan to Lida Knowles. Lida was born circa 1866 in West
Montrose, Canada, the daughter of Peter Hewitt and Mary Steurnaugle.[11]
On 22 April 1940, Herman and Lida Repcka lived in Rochester.
He was a farm laborer at a biological farm. They owned their home, valued at
$3,000.[12]
On 27 April 1942, Herman registered for the draft while he
and Lida lived at 148 Drace Street in Rochester. He worked for the Parke Davis
and Company Biological Farm. He was 5 ft 4 inches tall, weighed 180 pounds, had
brown eyes, gray hair, and a light complexion.[13]
Herman died on 5 August 1945 at the Oakland County Infirmary
Hospital in Waterford Township, Oakland County from carcinoma of the left
mandible.[14]
Herman was buried in the Mount Avon Cemetery in Rochester,
Oakland County.[15]
